C4D stands for Communications for Development. For the development of a country, one of the most important element is to rally along the communities, that is, initiating action right from grassroots and by adopting bottom-up approach. For this to be casted into reality, communication among different stakeholders is imperative.
The contemporary era is that of inclusive societies – meaning all the communities, authorities, and organizations need to undertake developmental initiatives mutually through consultations and timely communication. In Afghanistan’s context too, the application of C4D approaches and principles for development and humanitarian programming is an imperative needing utmost attention for ensuring participation of all stakeholders and lasting impact of the planned interventions.
For APWDO too C4D is an area of focus as we strive to integrate the C4D principles in all our interventions. So far, APWDO has focused its work in different fields to complement the efforts of CDCs through various projects as a recognition of the importance of capacitating communities – men, women and youth – to participate in the decision making processes of the interventions that affect their lives.
