Rapid Response Within 24 Hours

Within 24 hours of the 31 August earthquake, APWDO’s male and female health staff reached the affected areas with an ambulance to support the transfer and referral of injured people and to coordinate with local health facilities.

Coordinated Cash Assistance with UNICEF

In parallel, APWDO consulted with UNICEF and immediately launched Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) so families could cover urgent needs (food, medicines, transport, temporary shelter).

Registration and payment on the same day in priority sites.
5,000 households reached in 20 days (Nurgal & Chawkay).
Delivery aligned with cluster standards and PSEAH safeguards (women-led outreach, complaint channels, dignified distribution).
